This unusual short sketch gives us a brief glimpse into the life of a marriage where romance and intimacy has long since died. Title: Make a killing

Over a thousand deaths a month are caused by the illicit sale of small arms to rebel groups. This sketch highlights the fact that weapons such as the assault riffle supplied to nations with internal conflict, cause unnecessary losts of life and the destabilisation of a nation. As a by product, there is poverty, psychological trauma, and the fragmentation of society. The sketch calls people to both petition and pray against the sale and use of small arms.

Title: Why?

This can be a disturbing piece to watch; as it makes us face up to the fragility of our health and independence with the realisation of how easily it can all be taken away from us. It questions the very nature of God and how He can allow suffering and bad things to happen to "good" people.

Title: Nativity Scene

The stark reality of the birth of Jesus differs radically from the cosy media image we are shown at Christmas time. This sketch shows how easy it is to gloss over what it cost God to involve himself with mankind, distorting the truth for a fairy tale.

Title: Silent Death

Loneliness is one of the great curses of our society, for many it is like an uncomfortable travelling companion, a secret pain that makes one doubt one’s very self. An experience that surely no-one else could possibly feel.

This moving sketch takes place in a Doctor’s surgery and brings to the forefront how very difficult it is to admit to the shame of being lonely. Yet it is in the admission that the healing process can begin.

Title: Sweet and Sour Talk

This sketch has proved very popular with young and old alike, probably because it comes so near to the truth. It could be suitable for a family service, or occasions where an audience is predominantly Christian.

The family is often the place where we let our true selves come out into the open and we cannot hide behind superficial spirituality. This sketch faces us with the truth that to “love our neighbour” does not exclude those living in the same house as us.

Title: Time Flies

A carefree Australian suns himself in his garden and indulges in a little of his favourite sport…Fly Swatting! He is happy enough with his lot in life, but, like many people, rarely has a thought about life outside his own little back yard. Until, of course, he is challenged by his zealous pommie friend! Packed full of “Aussie” jokes (some quite thought provoking in themselves!) This amusing dialogue provokes the self-absorbed to look further than the ends of their noses.

Title: The Publisher

God is receiving feedback from his publisher having submitted the draft manuscript of his book. THE BEEBLE. The publisher whilst impressed with the dramatic story line, wants to edit the work to suit his readership: “It’s not Sodom and Gomorrah” people want to read about, rather self satisfaction and love”. This sketch is a challenge to Christians and non-Christians alike, who find it easier to focus on the comfortable aspects of God’s word rather than the passages which convict us of our sin or show us the need for a change.

Title: Angel Space

A witty conversation between two angels from a “heavenly” perspective. The younger Angel expresses surprise at God’s love and commitment to one small plant: earth, and it’s inhabitants. A love which expressed itself in the incarnation and the crucifixion.

This sketch would be ideal in the context of worship services, helping to focus on the greatness of God and what he has done for us. Performed with sound track (and lighting effects during winter months).

Title: Calorie Counting

A bitter sweet dialogue between husband and wife centring in “His” concern over her endless and apparently unsuccessful attempts to lose weight. The tables are turned when the subject of forgiveness is raised.

This is a really topical sketch and it works well as a supplement to a church sermon, just before communion, or where a congregation is focussing on the subject of forgiveness.

Title: Cinderella

An amusing Cinderella sketch, which has all the usual ingredients for a successful panto: except that the central character is missing. As Buttons says,  ‘This Christmas panto you know so weller, isn’t the same without Cinderella’. The same could be said about Christmas without Christ. Performed in full costumes with an excellent punch line.

Title: Miracle in the Making

This one act play is a fast moving, witty dialogue between an egg and a sperm. Accurate in all detail about the conception of human life, the play explored the uniqueness and value of each human being.

It would be ideally used to provoke discussion between an audience and a speaker or as part of a larger presentation with central theme on our value or uniqueness.

The script contains the occasional reference to God but is not evangelistic in its approach.
